Yes, we’re talking about the Roald Dahl adaptation. He also tours North America and Europe playing his creepy ass music from all these films, so I can’t stress enough how much you’ll love the soundtrack! All of this plus a ton of cabin fever vibes, you’ve got yourself a pretty creepy movie. Watch the trailer here Did I mention that this is a John Carpenter flick? This guy is responsible for some of the greats (Halloween, The Fog, Prince of Darkness). It’s set in Antarctica and involves a shapeshifting Alien and a bunch of scientists. The score alone will freak your bean! I grew up reading Goosebumps and Animorphs and this is their very grown up love child in the form of a movie. Is the hotel completely haunted, or has the lack of human interaction have the gang trippin’ out!? Seriously guys, do not watch this movie if you’ll be travelling anytime soon, because hotel spaces will never be the same. Watch the trailer here. Jack Torrance ( Jack Nicholson) plans to live for the winter in isolation with his wife and son as a caretaker of a hotel. This movie is proof that complete isolation is never a good idea. It’s a little bit campy but that’s what makes it so great. Watch the trailer here. And you will feel the tension in your blood. When the wife (in a role Mia Farrow was born to play) becomes mysteriously pregnant, paranoia over the safety of her unborn child begins to control her life. A young couple moves into an apartment only to be surrounded by peculiar neighbors and occurrences. If you’ve never seen this movie do so ASAP. Yes, I totally know that Roman Polanski is problematic AF, but this is one of my favourite films of the genre so it’s on the list. It’s an oldie, but never feels out of date. You’ll never think of the names Billy or Angus the same again.

The calls themselves, which consist of stream of consciousness and pig sounds are the scariest part of the movie. But what they don’t know that we do is that the calls are coming from INSIDE THE HOUSE.

And straight up, it has to be one of the most terrifying premises of any horror movie in existence: During their Christmas break, a group of girls are stalked by a stranger making phone calls to their sorority house. This, by the way, was clearly an inspiration for Neil LaBute’s Nurse Betty.I first saw this movie with Alyssa, Rachel and our BFF Nicole when we were in High School. If you cherish the idea of Pesci, Turturro (wearing a cowboy hat), Stockwell, and Hopper in the same room, you won’t be able to resist Backtrack. This thriller that morphs into a Jonathan Demme-like gentle comedy would be fine with just the two leads, but Hopper also corralled a supporting cast to die for: Joe Pesci, John Turturro, Dean Stockwell, Fred Ward, Vincent Price, and Bob Dylan as a chainsaw artist. Hopper plays the hit man who’s sent after her, and he grows romantically obsessed with her - a potentially icky twist that pays off, because Foster and Hopper turn out to have fantastic chemistry. Not wanting to give up her life, Foster flees cross-country, with both the cops and the mob on her tail.

She goes to the police, who offer her the FBI’s Witness Protection Program. Jodie Foster stars as a conceptual artist who witnesses a mob rubout. Now that it’s available on video in Hopper’s preferred cut, it has a shot at the following it deserves this is easily Hopper’s smoothest directorial outing to date.

Dennis Hopper followed Colors with this lost movie, which got held up for years (its original distributor folded) until it won a theatrical release in Europe and then a few playdates on American cable.
